What a BEAST!
Now I mean this in the most professional way, but this laptop is SEXY.Down to the gorgeous RGBs, to the 240hz refresh rate and not to mention the OLED screen and the RTX5070ti, MMMM 🤤, its everything you could ever want in a portable powerhouse! And this is coming from someone who had a Lenovo Legion Pro 3 with a RTX3070.After playing a few games at max settings with ray tracing enabled, I just can’t go back.Ive tested Outlast Trails with max settings and ray tracing enabled and Dx12 and maintained 114fps with 84fps as my 1% lows, Dead By Daylight with max settings and it maintained 120fps constantly, Fortnite at max setting with global illumination on DX12 and stayed in the 59fps range with 42fps as my 1% low, but that was on DX12 and isn’t really stable. But I could not be happier with this absolute beast. Lenovo Legions are just unmatched in the gaming communityThe only con and I mean ONLY thing that would have made this perfect is some kind of anti glare screen. My legion 3 had ine and this doesn’t, but its not a deal breaker buy any means

If you add a second SSD that’s not recognized, try swapping slots
One strange issue I ran into is when I went to add a 2nd SSD drive – it wasn’t recognized by the BIOS nor Windows. After doing some searching online, the fix was to swap the slots, switching the original SSD to the 2nd M.2 slot and the new to the 1st. You can then change the boot load order in BIOS.Build quality seems solid. The lid opens/closes without bouncing around due to stable hinges and the weight of the base which helps hold the laptop in place.A bit daunting at first to disassemble when upgrading/replacing battery, but it’s not difficult. Be sure to have a quality set of assorted precision screwdrivers. The black chassis gets smudgy easily even with clean hands.Keyboard has nice tactile feel. Nice layout – not cramped or oddly arranged. The backlight is especially helpful.I’m not a huge fan of RGB, but the colors on this really pop. It looks very nice! Custom-configurable in software, too.The Lenovo pre-installed software is very helpful in checking for and installing driver updates, BIOS firmware, etc. It’s not overly intrusive or gimmicky. McAfee software was not desired but it was simple to uninstall.Weight is not as bad as expected. I’ve owned prior gaming laptops, which were much clunkier. This fits nicely in a standard 16″ laptop carry case and doesn’t feel like a workout to transport.Performance is solid. I leave mine on ‘balanced’ and opt not to push the wattages/temps. It handles like a champ.Have only used it for about a month now and will update this if issues arise.Recommended.

Screen resolution Not as advertised
Screen resolution Not as advertisedI just received the laptop yesterday and have not had time to really use it much. As I finished the initial setup and went to change the screen resolution, I found that I received a model with the 2.5k WQXGA (2560 x 1600) versus the 4k WQXGA (3840 x 2160) screen. The screen resolution is specifically shown to be the 3840 x 2160 in the display section of the item specific details (see screenshot below). This was the primary deciding factors for my choosing this laptop over other competitors. I contacted customer service to see what my options were, expecting to be able to get the advertised version sent as a replacement and to send this one back. However, when I spoke with customer service and a supervisor, they both informed me that they could only offer for me to return it for reimbursement, “as it was not as advertised” and a replacement with those specifications would not be possible. This was/is highly disappointing as it was clearly advertised with certain specifications/capabilities which is a reasons I have historically trusted Amazon for expensive purchases such as this. I also clarified that it is an Amazon purchase (through Lenovo as a distributor), so the inaccurate advertisement was not the fault of a third party. I’m still deciding if I’m going to return it or keep it and accept the loss of capability with what I received; as it still seems fairly competitive with other laptops and is already setup with all my personal information and account details. More to follow once I have used it for a bit and made my decision.

Great laptop
Amazing laptop with great specs / price. Cooling is so much better than my previous laptop it runs quieter to keep cool and lot have to ramp up the fans to annoyingly high levels to game. The OLED screen is beautiful and fast. Although I’ve mostly used it for some school work and plugged into the living room TV for games. It’s a bit wider than other 16” laptops so you I made sure to get a larger 17” laptop backpack to make sure it fit. It didn’t fit my older bag made for “up to 16””.Battery isn’t great, but I knew that with those specs it wouldn’t be. If you want great battery life get a Mac Pro or similar. It’s a bit better if run on the internal graphics and not doing demanding tasks.I recommend the legion 7 completely. It’s nice to have a key pad on the right. My last laptop HP omen didn’t have one and when you gotta punch in numbers it’s convenient. Most of the RGB can be turned off.All in all it’s great. 🙂

Quiet and Cool Laptop
Great screen. Solid in the hand (like a tank). Plus, it’s very quiet on Quiet and Balanced mode. Whether it is AI workloads or gaming, I was very surprised at how quiet and cool the Legion Pro 7i ran compared to an Asus Strix G16 (which I tested along side). The only downside is the USB-C ports. You can’t plug any random USB-C into this laptop and still use the dGPU… which, is doable on Asus devices. It requires a unique type of USB-C specification. Something to think about if you want to leave the big charger in one spot and still use the dGPU.

I’ve put 100’s of hours of research into laptops by now and this is definitely the best laptop for my use case. The 5070ti is a beast and the laptop itself is beautiful
