    Excellent fitness tracker!
I am very happy with my Garmin Vivoactive 5. It was easy to set up, and the battery life is outstanding — lasting up to 10 days on a single charge, which is very impressive. The app is user-friendly and makes it simple to track and understand my data. Fitness and step tracking are accurate, and the built-in GPS works great for outdoor activities.I also love the bright, beautiful AMOLED display — it’s clear and easy to read in any lighting. The wellness features are extensive, including stress tracking, sleep coaching, Body Battery energy monitoring, and more. I’m still learning all the additional features, but so far, I’m very satisfied.Overall, I am very hapy with my purchase.

Great Value, Lightweight and Truly Waterproof
I’ve been using the Garmin Vivoactive 5 for a while now and I’m really happy with it. The price is very reasonable for what you get, and the watch feels solid and well built. It’s fully waterproof – I swim with it and wear it in water parks with no issues. The only thing to keep in mind is not to press the buttons while in the water and to lock the screen so you don’t get accidental touches.Battery life is excellent: in normal use I consistently get around 7–10 days on a single charge. The watch is light and not too big, which makes it very comfortable to wear all day and night. The display is easy to read even in bright sunlight, which is a big plus if you spend a lot of time outdoors. In my opinion, the value for money is great – it’s a very successful combination of price and quality. One detail worth mentioning is that notifications come only via Bluetooth. Unlike some Samsung watches that can also use Wi-Fi for notifications (which increases range but drains the battery faster), the Vivoactive 5 relies on Bluetooth, which helps preserve battery life. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this watch and would definitely recommend it.

The best fitness tracker I’ve used
I’m coming from an Apple Watch Series 5. I had gotten frustrated with the battery life and sleep tracking and wanted to see if a more fitness-focused watch would be a better fit. I’m not a big runner or someone who does a lot of intense exercise, but I do like to track my exercise and sleep and get nudges to move when I’ve been sitting down for too long. I also like to get notifications on my wrist without needing to pull out my phone.Compared to the Apple Watch, the first major thing I noticed was this is nowhere close in terms of smarts. I had gotten used to Apple’s smooth interface, built in microphone and speaker for voice commands, and often useful apps that can be used without needing to get my phone out. That being said, after a few days I can confidently say that I don’t need them. I would argue that Garmin knows what this is and what it is not – it’s a fitness device first and foremost, and everything else comes second. And on that basis they nailed it – the fitness tracking has been excellent and noticeably better than the Apple Watch especially in sleep tracking. I also much prefer their approach to goals, which tracks exercise over the course of a week rather than focusing specifically on individual days. Whenever I was sick or had a down day I would feel guilty if I didn’t close all of my rings on my Apple Watch, but I don’t feel that same pressure with the Garmin. I do miss being able to use voice commands with my watch, but I could have gotten a more expensive Garmin if I really wanted that, and I don’t think it’s worth it for me.The second thing I noticed: not having to charge your watch every day is a game changer. This was easily my biggest frustration with the Apple Watch since it’s marketed as a device you wear 24×7 and yet needs to be charged every day. And considering how long it took to charge my Series 5, this was a major annoyance. I couldn’t charge it overnight, because I wanted sleep tracking. I couldn’t charge it in the morning, because I like to start off my day with exercise and it doesn’t charge fast enough to do it after a workout and before work. And if I charged it in the evening, I would often forget to put it on before bed and miss out on the sleep tracking. The Garmin is a breath of fresh air by comparison – I charge it about once a week, and with my relatively light usage it can probably go close to two. I took a multi day trip recently and I didn’t once have to worry about charging my watch, which was a pleasant change.Overall I think this watch is a great fit for a more casual user who isn’t running marathons but wants to track fitness and sleep and get some extras like smartphone notifications and see the weather at a glance. If you want something with more smart features and better build quality (i.e. more metal and less plastic), then the Venu might be a better fit. Or they have the Forerunner if you do run marathons. Or a bunch of other models for more specific use cases. But I would highly recommend giving this watch a try if you’re looking for the same things that I am.

    Best Watch Out There
Why spend way more on other digital watches when you can get the best watch for a much better price. The watch looks good, battery lasts about 5-7 days depending on use. The heath tracker is fantastic. It helps to keep me honest with my workouts as I send them to my wife after to keep me accountable. I also enjoy playing golf and the golf app has tons of courses and accurate distances. I upgraded from the Garmin Vivoactive 3 and am so happy I did.

    Nice watch, has some flaws
Just received the watch today, it’s nice but I have some concerns. For starters the band is completely silicone and plastic- the buckle piece is plastic, even the case around the watch is plastic. For $200 you’d think it would at-least be metal. The setup was easy- but came with very little instruction for other things like changing watch faces, setting up apps, etc. Learning how to use the watch and what the buttons all do is pure guessing. The charger is USB-C- if it wasn’t for my laptop I would have no way to charge the watch. Should have come with a compatible block.UPDATE:After using the watch for several days I do like it. While the overall construction (plastic casing) could be better, the overall operation works great. Steps and heart rate seem accurate. The display looks nice, customizable, and the watch is comfortable. The stress levels don’t seem to be accurate. I get “high stress” alerts when all I’ve been doing is laying in bed all day.Just add a titanium casing to the surrounding of the watch and provide more thorough instructions on overall use + updates for accuracy on certain apps and it would be perfect!

    10/10 watch
Amazing watch. Everyone in my family has one of these so I thought I’d get one too. Sleep tracker and body battery is a huge plus, good exercise features.

  9. Dee.M

Nice watch that does everything I need- hr, sats, steps, sleep, vo2 max, gps for exercise tracking… quite a big face and I bought the screen protector which makes it pretty bulky but still- not a bad looking watch. Checked the reviews- made no sense to get the vivoactive 6- this one actually more user friendly.
